Carestream Dental provides industry-leading imaging, software, and practice management solutions for dental and oral health professionals around the globe. Their training center located at Ajman University of Science & Technology campus is the ideal hub for industry experts and interns like dentistry students, to combine academia and practice.

CAD CAM, for Computer Assisted Designing and Computer Assisted Manufacturing, was first introduced at AEEDC 2014. It is a cutting-edge technology that allows the dentist to computerize and automatize time consuming and multiphasic dental restorations including crowns, crown lays, veneers, inlays and onlays, fixed bridges, dental implant restorations and orthodontic appliances.

Ajman University Dentistry College is one of the pioneers of oral and dental education in the region with well-structured and accredited programs, over 130 dental chairs and a very experienced and highly qualified faculty. The college is one of the largest in the Middle East providing, free and low-cost advanced dental treatments for the local community.

The training courses and workshops imparted recently at the center attracted practicing dentists and technicians from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. The participants were introduce to the new CAD CAM system. This course is the first of its kind in the country. It was conducted by renowned trainer Giorgio Coloma (Italy), Eamonn Boyle (Ireland), and two CAD CAM technical support specialists from Germany and France. Also present was Eng. Montassar Ben Tili, Business Development Manager for CareStream - MENA & Africa Region.

“This level of advanced and up-to-date trainings on such groundbreaking equipment in the industry will foster development in our students, especially those enrolled at the Master’s program of Restorative Dentistry at the College of Dentistry” explained, Dr. Alexander Luke, dental faculty member at AUST.
