Kelvin Ian Afrashtehfar

Professor Dr. Kelvin Ian is a board-certified prosthodontist and ITI Fellow dedicated to oral reconstruction and dental implants. He shaped the field, AU, and the College through his contributions as a full-time university professor until August 2024. Currently, he focuses on his specialist private practice in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. His scope of practice includes everything from single ceramic veneers in the upper front teeth to full-mouth zirconia implant reconstructions, with a commitment to patient-oriented care supported by his research into patient satisfaction with aesthetic and cosmetic dental procedures. Licensed Dental Consultant in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Canada, Professor Dr. Kelvin is distinguished by his fellowships—FRCD(C) and FDS RCS(UK)—highlighting his status among the elite in GCC region and beyond. His global impact is reinforced by a prestigious recognition from Stanford University as a top 2% scientist worldwide and his role as an Honorary Research Associate Professor in Reconstructive Dentistry (Chair: Prof. Schimmel) at Universität Bern (2024 QS World University Rankings: #6 in Dentistry). He has held visiting professorships in Prosthodontics (Chair: Prof. Kim) at Seoul's Yonsei University Dental Hospital (QS #31 in Dentistry) and in Periodontology (Head: Prof. Schmidlin) at the University of Zurich's Dental Medicine Center (QS #8 in Dentistry). As Vice President of the IADR's Evidence-Based Dentistry Network since 2024 and Editorial Board member of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (Scopus Top 10% journal, AU-A*) since 2013, Professor Dr. Kelvin is recognized for his dedication to top research and practice standards.
