Ajman University Academician Awarded for her Research on Children Dental Health

An academician at Ajman University of Science and Technology, Dr. Raghad Hashim, Assistant Professor and Head of Growth and Development Department in the College of Dentistry added another milestone to her record of achievements by winning the second prize at His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Scientific Award for the Distinguished Medical Research in the GCC.

Dr. Raghad presented her research, which dealt with the most important and most effective means for the prevention of dental disease in children. It met with appreciation and admiration of the organizing committee of the competition for its value and impact on child health in the community.

Dr. Hashim stated that this award has imposed its cultural level on the GCC and buoyed the region with a series of valued scientific studies and research which have combined to bridge the apparent shortage in the intellectual arena. She owed this achievement primarily to the full support Ajman University lends to academic research.

Her innovative researches are honored locally and internationally, she won the Association of Arab Dental Colleges Award, for the Best Published Scientific Research in Dentistry for the year 2009 from the Association of Arab Universities in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2007 she was nominated for “Gidden” Award for Distinguished Research in Behavioral Sciences after presenting her research in New Orleans, USA.

In 2005 she received the “Colgate Research in Prevention” Award from the International Association of Dental Research presented in Washington, USA. The same year, she also received Sultan Al-Owais’ Award for Studies and Scientific Innovation, and was the first prizewinner for the Best Medical Research in UAE. Dr. Raghad Hashim published many papers and her work is cited in numerous articles published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
