Emarati Researchers Present First Master’s Thesis; College of Dentistry

For the first time since the Master’s program was launched in the College of Dentistry at Ajman University of Science & Technology, two graduates presented their masters’ thesis to a panel of judges. 

Two Emarati students; Dr. Sharifa Al Raisi and Dr. Sheikha Abu Shwareb are the two brilliant students who made the university proud with their researches they were an integral part of the newly established graduate program of Restorative Dentistry in the College. They diligently worked on their thesis under the supervision of Dr. Suleiman Abdul Majid Haq and Dr. Musab Al Hamid Saeed.

The thesis prepared by Dr. Sharifa was based on comparative analysis between the different methods used in the final configuration of the external appearance of the fillings and its cosmetic work in relation to the impact of these methods on the durability, color and the effectiveness of these fillings.

Whereas Dr. Sheikha’s research touched upon the most important and the most advanced systems used in the treatment of dental nerves and roots in order to determine the effectiveness of each method in maintaining the shape of the root canal. This was achieved utilizing the various degrees of bending Digital microscope to measure the effectiveness.

The panel of committee included Dr. Abdul Majid Haq, Dr. Abdul Rahman Saleh, and Dr. Ali Al-Razzuqi, and the Dr. Hussein al-Khafaji from the University of Sharjah.

Dr. Salim Abu Fanas, Dean, College of Dentistry expressed his pride and stressed that the college pays special attention to scientific research as it is the key pillar in the development of theoretical  knowledge in students. He praised the student’s efforts in achieving this stage in their careers and the University’s keen support to encourage its students to prove their mettle in various fields of research.
